Reptile Puzzles

Snakes

Snakes are long, slithery reptiles that live all around the world—except in very cold places like the North or South Pole. They come in many colors and sizes, from tiny garden snakes to giant pythons!

Snakes don’t have legs, arms, or eyelids, but they move by sliding their bodies and using their scales to grip the ground. They are carnivores, which means they eat other animals like mice, birds, frogs, and even eggs.

Lizards

Lizards are reptiles that come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. They live all over the world—in deserts, forests, jungles, and even backyards! Most lizards have four legs, scaly skin, and long tails, though a few (like legless lizards) look a bit like snakes. Lizards are cold-blooded, which means they need sunlight to warm up their bodies. That’s why you might see them basking on rocks or logs. They eat a variety of foods, like insects, plants, and small animals.

Turtles

Turtles are reptiles that have a hard shell to protect their bodies—like carrying their own little house everywhere they go! They live in many places around the world, including oceans, rivers, ponds, and on land. A turtle’s shell is made of bone and covered with scales, and it’s connected to their backbone—so they can’t ever take it off. Turtles are cold-blooded, so they like to sunbathe to warm up. Some turtles live in the water most of the time, while others spend more time on land.
